Lately, that's been digging through Star Citizen's game files.

Why I made this

Over the last few months, I kept seeing the same questions come up:

Hey, where can I find X?

Where can I loot Y?

And it made me sad that there was no real resource for where to find stuff.

So I tried making a little script. It worked, but only I could read it, and even for me it was ugly. Plus, I wanted to share it with friends and org members.

So I turned it into a website: something the average player can open, search for what they want, then fly to where it spawns.

This site was made with the help of AI, specifically Anthropic's Claude, mainly because I like programming, but that doesn't mean I know how to make websites (or like making them), especially pretty ones.

I datamine, dig through the files and write what I can code; Claude helps with the website and whatever's too complex for me alone.

How to read this

Spawn spot: a fixed point in a location where loot appears. Each spot only takes one kind of item: a Ship component spot · S2 · Grade A only ever gives size 2, grade A components.
How it spawns: Lying loose means the item itself appears on the spot. On a rack means it comes on a weapon rack or dispenser that appears on the spot. Inside a crate means it's one of the random items rolled inside a crate.
Crates: the standard loot crate's colour tells what it holds, and it comes in three shapes (Small, Tall, Wide). Other containers are named by their model (weapon case, metal loot crate, medical cabinet…).

Chance: for loose items and racks, the chance that a spot picks this item each time it fills. For crates, the chance that one item rolled in the crate is this one; a crate holds several items, so the chance per crate is higher. All chances are estimates.
Respawn: how long until the spot spawns loot again after you take the item, loot the rack or open the crate. The new loot is a fresh roll, so it may not be the same item.
Not confirmed: a few areas have no spawn-spot data in the game files, so everything their loot setup allows is listed and marked as not confirmed.
Caves, wrecks and mission sites appear at random spots, so they are grouped by kind instead of by name.
Show directions (VerseGuide): places on a planet or moon link to their page on VerseGuide, where you can get directions to them. Handy for places you can't quantum to.
Spot counts count each kind of room once: a place with two identical garages shows one garage's spots.
LIVE and PTU: the switch at the top picks which game version the whole page shows. What changed compares each version with its previous build, and PTU with LIVE: items that can spawn in new places, places they lost, and big chance changes.
Technical: each location module references a harvestable preset; its spawn points (SlotSpawnPoint / HarvestableTagPoint) pick the preset config whose tags are all on the point, most specific first (inferred). Crate chances multiply table weights, archetype weights and the rarity / faction / manufacturer layers, then split evenly between matching items; fill level, choice and duplicate limits and spawn-with ammo are not modelled. Attachments pre-mounted on looted weapons are not counted. Respawn is the slot's harvestable setup (or the preset it points to): respawnInSlotTime times the slot and config respawn multipliers, or despawnTimeSeconds when that's 0 (v3 crates and storage units); additionalWaitForNearbyPlayersSeconds is left out.
